Introduction

Hi,

My name is Anna Rosemary Tumilty. I am 15 years old and I started this project in September 2001 then aged 13 with the help of my dad on the people who lived and those who are buried in Little Crosby Village, Liverpool UK.

Dad is researching our family name and we have found new relatives in Brampton, Ontario, Canada which is quite near to Toronto. Cousin Tom Tumilty and family are related to us, back to 1880's in Liverpool. Tom's granddad (also called Tom) was my great, great granddad's (Bernard Tumilty) brother. Bernard died in 1914 when the Empress of Ireland sank in the St Lawrence River, Canada. This is just the tip of the iceberg you can visit Tom's site at http://www.acad.humberc.on.ca/~tumilty/ and you can see a handwritten letter that Bernard wrote when on the ship just before it sank at http://www.acad.humberc.on.ca/~tumilty/tgt15.htm

In January 2002 I was awarded best site of the month by the Golden Gate Genealogy Forum on AOL.

Our local paper the Crosby Herald did a small piece about this site in January 2002. Also BBC Radio Merseyside did an interview with me and broadcast it at the end of February. You can read a transcript of the tape by clicking on me typing, it took ages!

You can use this search box to search this site.

This is a picture of the church

I started this on September 10th 2001 and each week I will be adding more pictures, information from the local census records and possibly Church records. Lets see how long it takes me to finish it.

:-)    :-)     :-)     :-)     :-)     :-)     :-)     :-)     :-)     :-)

People have started to contact me from over the world and some have specifically asked for me to look for names in the graveyard. So what I have decided to do is collect all the names from the headstones and post them on my site. If you see someone you think is a relative you can ask me and I will go to that grave first and copy the text, putting it on the internet. This way you won't have to wait ages for me to record all the headstones. I will then get the photographs and try and locate people in the 1881 census.

Please E-mail me  and let me know if you find any useful information on my site. Or just tell me what you think about it or how I can improve it. If you find any faults such as broken links, wrong links or duplicated information please let me know.

We have had to start another guest book, you can read archive guest book entries here

Please visit my guest book and tell me if you have found anything useful on the site. Just click on the book. Please also tell me what part of the world you live in as I find it very interesting to know how far away the site is being looked at .

If you want to post information about your family research, even if it's not related to Little Crosby, or start a conversation then please use my bulletin board. Maybe someone who reads it will link into your family.

Just click on the skeletons to start talking about them.

This link takes you to the full 1881 census records of Little Crosby Village, thanks to the Latter Day Saints. In time I will get the other census years from the library.

Any Latin inscription I have written in italics, I have highlighted the peoples names on the further information page to help you locate the person/person's, but you must do your own research to confirm it is the person you are looking for!

Please do not hold me responsible for any mistakes I will try my best to be accurate.
