the non-metropolitan county created on 1.4.1974 from the counties of Flintshire and Denbighshire and part of the county of Merionethshire.
the preserved county created on 1.4.1996 from the principal areas of Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham.

Colwyn	Clwyd	1974	2007	Created 1.4.1974 out of Aled and Hiraethog registration districts. Abolished 11.6.2007 and added to Conwy registration district.
Conwy	Clwyd	2007		Created 11.6.2007 from Aberconwy and Colwyn registration districts.
Delyn	Clwyd	1974	1996	Created 1.4.1974 out of Holywell registration district. Renamed 1.4.1996 to become Flintshire West registration district.
Denbighshire	Clwyd	2018		Created 13.6.2018 out of Denbighshire North and Denbighshire South registration districts.
Denbighshire North	Clwyd	1996	2018	Created 1.4.1996 out of Rhuddlan and Glyndŵr registration districts. Abolished 13.6.2018 and added to Denbighshire registration district.
Denbighshire South	Clwyd	1996	2018	Created 1.4.1996 out of Glyndŵr and Wrexham Maelor registration districts. Abolished 13.6.2018 and added to Denbighshire registration district.
Flintshire	Clwyd	2005		Created 18.4.2005 from Flintshire East and Flintshire West registration districts.
Flintshire East	Clwyd	1996	2005	Created 1.4.1996 by renaming Alyn & Deeside registration district. Abolished 18.4.2005 and added to Flintshire registration district.
Flintshire West	Clwyd	1996	2005	Created 1.4.1996 by renaming Delyn registration district. Abolished 18.4.2005 and added to Flintshire registration district.
Glyndŵr	Clwyd	1974	1996	Created 1.4.1974 out of Ruthin, Merioneth East and Hiraethog registration districts. Abolished 1.4.1996 and divided between Denbighshire South, Denbighshire North and Colwyn registration district.
Rhuddlan	Clwyd	1974	1996	Created 1.4.1974 by renaming St. Asaph registration district. Abolished 1.4.1996 and added to Denbighshire North registration district.
Wrexham	Clwyd	1996		Created 1.4.1996 out of Wrexham Maelor district.
Wrexham Maelor	Clwyd	1974	1996	Created 1.4.1974 out of Wrexham, Maelor and Hawarden registration districts. Abolished 1.4.1996 and divided between Wrexham, Denbighshire South and Welshpool & Llanfyllin registration districts.
